Francesco Dal Toso, creative inventor of grappas, becomes an interpreter of an ancient tradition, easily moving around alembics and grape marc.

Our heart is Venetian: the tradition ties us to Asiago and its history; the origin and the current headquarter are in Barbarano Vicentino.
From the territory, we have inherited the creativity, the inventive, the desire of experimenting.
Asiago. In a small laboratory crowded of alembics, herbs and spices, the young chemist Giovan Battista Rossi prepares elisirs with China calisaya and royal jelly for the vacationers. Achievements and eulogies – like the gold medal to the Grand Prix de Paris, in 1904 – incite him to launch the first industrial production of distillates in that area: the prestigious Distilleria Rossi – Asiago is born.
Born Kranebet (form Cimbrian “kraneveta</em”), a white bitter obtained from the distillation of juniper berries, gentian and alpine roots. It becomes soon the emblem of the Rossi Distillery and a symbol of Asiago plateau.
The first herbal and fruit liquors are produced.
Francesco Dal Toso, last of nine sons, leaves the paternal house bringing with him the inheritance of his grandfather Sante: a barrel of grape marc distillate. With his wife Eleonora, founds IDE (Industria Distillati Elaborati): his products are supplied all over Northern Italy.
Francesco dal Toso acquires Distillerie Valbruna, a company based in Limena (PD), specialized in the production of pastry liquors. Thanks to the launch of new products and to the improvement of the sales network, the brand becomes soon the leader in the confectionery field.
The family acquires the brand created by the chemist Giovan Battista Rossi, relaunching it as Rossi D’Asiago. Antiche Distillerie Riunite is born, to which heads the two brands of the house: Rossi D’Asiago and Valbruna.

Born Volare, a new line that gather the whole production of cocktail liquors.
First in the market, the company introduce a Sambuca based liquors line.
Rossi D’Asiago patents the new Pro-Pour technology: a retractable and oriented pourer, integrated in each cap. Thought to answer to the handiness and manoeuvrability need of every bartender, the Pro-Pour is used on Volare and Antica Sambuca products’ lines.

The secret of these great grappas? Strict choice of the marc, selected from the most prestigious Italian wine varieties, accurate distillation process with copper alembics, ageing in barriques and fine wood barrels.
